The new Wonder Woman 1984 trailer has arrived with new footage, including our first look at Cheetah (Kristen Wig).
Many have wondered what Wonder Woman’s number one nemesis will look like. The trailer gives us only a glimpse but we’re hoping she’ll look nothing like characters in the box office bomb, Cats. Days later, Iron Studios released images of two statues of Cheetah which gives us a closer look at Cheetah.
We still have no idea about the film’s plot, what Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) has planned, or how and why Barbara Ann Minerva becomes Cheetah. Though she says in the trailer she wants to become an Apex predator.
A theme of female empowerment runs through the trailers. And it looks like both Wonder Woman and Cheetah have different views on how that empowerment should be used.
Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big screen adventure finds her facing two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah.
With director Patty Jenkins back at the helm and Gal Gadot returning in the title role, “Wonder Woman 1984” is Warner Bros. Pictures’ follow up to the DC Super Hero’s first outing, 2017’s record-breaking “Wonder Woman,” which took in $822 million at the worldwide box office. The film also stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, Robin Wright as Antiope, and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta.
Wonder Woman 1984 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 25 (Christmas Day).
