Star Wars Celebration Day 2: Andor Season 2 Premieres Early, Ahsoka New Cast Members, & LEGO Gets Wild!
The Force was strong in Tokyo as Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 blasted into its second day, delivering a payload of thrilling announcements primarily focused on upcoming Disney+ series and a brand-new video game adventure. After Day 1 set the stage with big movie news, Saturday, April 19th, kept the hyperspace lanes buzzing with exclusive reveals that have fans across the galaxy talking. Unlike some past Celebrations that packed major news into one large showcase, this year’s event gave dedicated spotlights to individual projects, allowing for deeper dives into what’s coming next.
Andor’s Final Mission Takes Flight
The biggest buzz surrounded the final season of Andor. Creator Tony Gilroy, star Diego Luna (Cassian Andor), and key cast members including Alan Tudyk (K-2SO) took the stage for a highly anticipated panel. Lucasfilm treated attendees to a surprise screening of the entire first episode of Season 2, just days before its official debut.
The Force flowed strongly in the Ahsoka panel as well, led by creators Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, star Rosario Dawson, and featuring a surprise appearance that brought the house down: Hayden Christensen. Filoni confirmed that filming for Season 2 begins just days after Celebration wraps up. Fans can expect the series to return to Disney+ in 2026.
The biggest cheer came when Christensen confirmed his return as Anakin Skywalker for Season 2, simply stating, “Anakin will be back”. He reflected on applying the “principles” George Lucas taught him and called working with Filoni a privilege. Dawson described sharing the set with Christensen, whom she’s known since they were teens, as “magical”.
LEGO Star Wars Rebuilds the Galaxy (Again!)
Adding a dose of chaotic fun, Ahmed Best (known for voicing Jar Jar Binks) took the stage to announce LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild Galaxy – Pieces of the Past. This four-part animated special, a sequel to the first Rebuild Galaxy, lands on Disney+ on September 19, 2025.
Best returns to voice the hilariously non-canon Darth Jar Jar, joined by returning cast members and new voices, including Ashley Eckstein as LEGO Ahsoka and Ben Schwartz as the cult-favorite comic character Jaxxon. Mark Hamill will even make a special appearance as Luke Skywalker. The special promises more wild antics and explicitly features LEGO products like the buildable Chewbacca set (75371) and the retired Ahsoka BrickHeadz figure, creating a fun synergy between the show and the toys.
Assemble Zero Company: A New Clone Wars Game
Gaming fans got their own major reveal with the announcement of Star Wars: Zero Company. Presented by developers Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games, this new title is a single-player, turn-based tactics game set during the Clone Wars era. Players will lead an “unconventional outfit of professionals for hire,” including a customizable lead character, an Umbaran sharpshooter, a Jedi avenging her master, and a haunted Clone trooper. This marks a notable shift into the strategy genre for recent Star Wars games, diversifying the portfolio beyond action-adventure. Look for Zero Company to deploy sometime in 2026.
The Galaxy Expands
While Andor, Ahsoka, LEGO, and Zero Company dominated the headlines, Day 2 also featured panels celebrating Star Wars art with Doug Chiang, conversations with stars like Mads Mikkelsen and Sam Witwer, and the ever-popular Cosplay Showcase, ensuring there was something for every type of fan.
Day 3 is almost upon us. Expect more exciting updates to come!
